Learning to hit the publish button !

Some random rant after getting irritated by the way media was reacting to the world cup win.
Probable reason for not publishing : I might have thought that ranting is useless :P

As much as I enjoy re-living the world cup winning moment, it irritates me to see how the media and the politicians are drawing mileage out of this. While all the TV channels are singing praise of the Indian  team in the least imaginative way, the politicians are competing with one another in gifting Crores of Rupees to the winning team.

The content in every news channel is same. A picture of Dhoni or Sachin lifting the cup and the reader in the background talking in a hyped up artificial voice about how this team has won everything under the leadership of Dhoni. If not, we have some ex-cricketers talking about the Midas touch of Dhoni. Yeah we all know Dhoni led us to the cup and the WC is dedicated to Sachin. If you want to appreciate the team do it gracefully. Please do not go to player's families and tap into their emotions. Interview the unseen, unknown faces that have worked so hard to keep the players fit and ready for the world cup. Does anyone know the name of the guy who came running to middle when Dhoni was cramping ? Give that guy some screen space. He is the one who kept our Champions fit and fine. While the players are using every single opportunity to appreciate these people, the media is least bothered.

To all the News editors, I have just one request. Before you post a content, think of this : How will it affect a young kid who sees it ? From whatever u have telecast, the only thing that is going to happen is young kids are going to have their head tonsured !! The media has great power and with power comes responsibility. It is the media's responsibility to make kids understand the Dhoni's success is not due to Midas touch or luck. It is because of the ability to make maximum of whatever is given and the ability to back whatever decision is made. If done, every single kid will be successful in whatever he does.
